IF-01 Defining and communicating the need for change

The starting point for driving change is a ‘need for change’ that is compelling and clearly communicated to everyone.

The need for change can either be a ‘burning platform’ – a major crisis threatening the organization’s existence and needing immediate action – or, alternatively, the organization’s vision and mission – which might be so powerful that it is sufficient to motivate employees to make the needed changes.

The ‘need for change’, and the associated objectives & KPIs, need to be cascaded down throughout the organisation so that all parts of the organization understand the need for change.
