IF-02-03 Implementation planning
An implementation plan:
- Provides key stakeholders with sufficient information to make a ‘Go’, ‘No Go’ decision (to determine if the initiative should proceed into implementation)
- Enables stakeholders to understand resourcing requirements
- Provides stakeholders with a high level workplan allowing stakeholders to see what is actually involved in implementing the initiative
- Enables progress tracking during implementation
Key components of a good implementation plan include:
- -Detailed description of current state and future state
- ‘Measures of success’ defining the goals of the initiative
- Tasks and milestones defining the work plan
- Key risks identifying major risks and mitigating actions to address those risks
- Agreed sponsor and initiative owner
