Key components of an implementation plan (required at the ‘Implementing’ gate)

Ownership:

  • Sponsor input and agreement (of objectives and plan)
  • Empowered initiative owner

Current and future state clearly defined:

  • Current state problem and opportunity/issues
  • Solution and expected future state

Clear measures of success:

  • Impact – Overall expected impact/benefit if successful
  • KPIs – Process & risk metrics with baselines and targets

Workplan – Steps/Milestones:

  • A well-defined work plan that will deliver future state quickly and sustainably (with expected resource commitment needed)

Risks

  • Risks identified and mitigated in the work plan (if major)
